I am an avid coffee drinker – I love coffee! The smell of it makes me want it, and I am even that person that wakes up excited to drink it. However, I do love a good tea every now and then. I am by now means a tea expert, and when I say that I drink tea, I mean I drink tea when I am feeling sick and my throat feels like it is on fire.
A few years ago I came across this Matcha Green tea. I had heard about it and was intrigued, so I decided to hunt it down. My first stop of course was Starbucks! They had to have had this, and yes of course they did. I ordered a tall Matcha Green Tea Latte, and that day is where I madly fell inlove.
Matcha Tea is of course green tea, however, instead of steeping the green leaves, it is grinded up into a powder, known as Matcha. It comes with alot of health benefits too, such as antioxidants, it is great to help boost your immunity, help with inflammation, it is associated to decrease the risk of liver damage, and so much more.
You can get Matcha tea pretty much anywhere now-a-days, and I would suggest checking out your local farmer’s market, which is where I get mine.
If you would like a guide because you are new to making this tea, here is how I like to make my Matcha Green Tea! Enjoy!
Matcha Green Tea
- 1 1/2 cup of milk, or almond milk
- 1 TBS of Matcha
I like to drink my tea hot, so I heat the milk first, then mix in the matcha powder. If you would like it cold over ice, the powder mixes well into cold milk.
